We have a winner of the last available Queen of Swords ARC
With the Mathematician's (long distance) help, numbers were crunched and some how or another entries were heaped into an imaginary computational hat, one for each post on the forum. I don't really understand the technical end of things, because well, he's the one with the doctorate in pure math and I'm the one with the doctorate in squishy feely social sciences. So I'm trusting him with this and you have to, as well.
And so the winner is: Kathy J (her user name on the forum). I have to hear from Kathy by Monday with mailing instructions, and if I don't, I'll ask the Mathematician to pull another name.
In the next couple weeks I'll be drawing names for:
(1) a signed first edition/first printing of Queen of Swords (which should be showing up on my doorstep by the third week of September).
(2) a box o' books -- five or six of my all time favorite novels, most of which are out of print
Thank-you, thank-you, thank-you!!! I am trying to be restrained, but I'm just so excited!!!! I have sent you an email with postal details!!!!
Thanks Rosina and the Mathematician!
Kathy J
you're very welcome
Congrats, Kathy J.
Congratulations, Kathy.
re: favorite books: I read a book this week that had me thinking about you a lot, for several reasons:
1) It was titled The Abortionist's Daughter. Was that on your list in that post all those months ago?
2) Actually I kept thinking you would probably really like it.
3) Until I got right near the end and there were two completely atrocious eye-related metaphors. (I think "bullets shot from her eyes" as she was dying and then later "his eyes broke/burst/exploded into pieces" or something along those lines, as he let his guard down and smiled. Now I wish I hadn't returned it to the library an hour ago. When I read that last one I actually said, "Man, Rosina would hate that line." Out loud. In the middle of the night.
Congrats Kathy! Happy Reading!
Sorry Rachel, you must have me confused with someone else....I've never heard of that book.
Thanks KristinaLynn!
Rosina, if you didn't get my email with the address can you let me know.....and thanks again! :)
Yes, I got the email. The ARC wil go into Monday's mail. Along with the last batch of manuscript pages.
Oh, shoot, sorry, Kathy, I did it again. My train of thought switches tracks rapidly and I forget to notify people. It was Rosina that the book made me think of. Most hearty congratulations again on the ARC, though! :)
I am hooked on the writings of Sara Donati/Rosina Lippi.... I went to my fave bookshop to check the delivery date of .....Queen of Swords and was delighted when I was recommended Tied to the Tracks (including the.....Guaranteed Great Read)......a wonderful story on the complexities of human beings and facing who we are, I want more. thank you
Sandra -- thank you so much for stopping by and for the kind words. Please do come by the forum if you have time and interst.
