ARC giveaway rules
« on: July 09, 2006, 01:32:36 PM »

If you have signed up for this forum and posted something of substance at least once, you are in the next drawing for an ARC of Queen of Swords.  I'll pull a name next weekend and contact the winner by email. If I don't hear back from that person within three days, I'll pull another name.

Sometime toward the end of August, there will be another drawing. In that case, you are entered automatically every time you post on this forum (in any part of it, discussing anything), and all posts entered from the day the forum opened will count. However. I will delete filler posts that do nothing more than get the writer another entry in the drawing. Some examples of filler posts at the end of this entry. So go forth and talk, it may get you an ARC.

I love your books, the first Wilderness being my favourite. I think Nathaniel and Elizabeth are well written, and I love how he takes care of her. Every time Nathaniel appeared on the page I could feel a blush coming to my face! I have always loved Native American stories, and your descriptions of the culture, use of language, and the story itself were all very enjoyable. I look forward to the next read!

If you pull the name on Friday, does this mean the three days are up on Sunday or on Monday?  I'm out of town for the weekend (though will be back Sunday evening) so wanted to make sure.

An ARC is an Advance Reading Copy of a book that is soon to be published.  A few lucky people will not have to wait until October to read Queen of Swords.  (please be me, please be me, please be me)

Argh!  I missed it by one day.  That just figures.  I'm been signed up with a screen name and password for weeks, but haven't posted yet.  I'm still trying to figure out how to juggle work, a small business, the farm, getting ready for the move, and going back to school for my degree.  (holding up my right hand) "I do solomnly promise to allow myself time to visit here more often"!

No, you haven't missed it. NEXT Friday.

Then in August, I'll do another drawing, but for that one you'll have one entry for every post you make here on the forum.

Oooohhhh ... I would love so much to get an advance reading copy of _Queen of Swords_!  I have loved the other Wilderness books so much!  As a teacher, now is the best time I have all year to get all of my fun reading done.  Once the school year begins, it is basically student essays for me.

Not sure i am doing this right but wanted to say I love the books so far. I read all four novels in a month I couldn't get enough. I especially liked the connections to Diana Gabaldon's books. I have been talking about the books in the staff room at the school I teach at and I am sure at least 3 others are reading the series now. Love them, they are the kind you keep forever and reread and get more out of it each time! Thank you for the experiences!

firenze (Florence?)

glad you found us, and that you're enjoying the series. You are now in the drawing for the ARC. Hope you'll stay around a bit, see if there are any discussions that interest you.

I would like to enter the contest of winning Queen of Swords for my sister, since she was the one who convinced me to read the first book in the series, and after the first chapter i was hooked and bought the first four books for me and my sister. Any way im not quite sure how to enter. any chance of a hand on how to do it.

I have just discovered the Wilderness series and have spent the past 4 months staying up late to read them.  With 1 and 2 year old babies, I have been very selective in my reading choices and my "free time" has been spent with Elizabeth, Nathaniel, et. al.  They have been good company and a wonderful escape from reality.  I hope luck is with me; I would love to continue my escape.
