nu?

I sense I've gone quite far enough with the subject of cover art. Either that, or you're all over at getupgrrl's place talking about monkey porn and Dr. Love.

Today I wrote 2,000 words, and I'm feeling hopeful that I can do the same tomorrow. And I'm reading about ten books simultaneously, half of them non-fiction (Mammon and Manon in Early New Orleans by Ingersoll, just as disturbing as I feared it would be; three different books on Andrew Jackson, who I never much liked and like even less, the more I read about him.); and half fiction (I've just discovered Laura Lippman and am happily plowing my way through her books; also, Francine Prose, whose work I really like, has a new novel out, waiting for me even as I type).

PS Let me say: if somebody has questions they'd like answered (beyond the usual 'when it Queen of Swords coming out?') speak up, and I'll see what I can do. Otherwise it'll be potluck tomorrow.

Not a question really but would like to know if you were going to post any reviews of books that you've read recently. By the way, I think "Queen of Swords" is a great title .... I hope Bantam come up with a suitable cover when its released.

I never much liked Andrew Jackson either.

OK, I have a question. When you have two books underway, do you set days to work on one or the other, or do you just pretty much have to go however the muse tells you to? Is one going more easily than the other right now?

Sara,
Funny I just after reading your blog today I heard on the radio (NPR Fresh Air)

http://www.npr.org/templates/story/story.php?storyId=4529667

a review of this "new book" by Francine Prose...
today I went to the library and the only thing on the shelf was "Guided Tours of Hell" so what else have you read from her? What would you recommend? Another thing....maybe you know of this book...."Booklust" by Nancy Pearl so funny even a librarian action figure....anyway there is now a "Booklust 2" you know ....while we wait.....like over at Diana Gabaldon's site....we over here on Storytelling need a "Methadone List" ....while we wait..

Peacekeeper Wars March 25 and 26 on "Space" channel in Canada. I have resisted, and resisted the need to read spoilers. So far, so good. But is it good? Can you believe there are people who have not seen Wars?

PAM - Peacekeeper Wars is good simply because it continues the story. Not perfect but still good. Won't critique it anymore as it will be unfair for those who have not seen it yet. I hope you enjoy it though have something on standby to do (like a good book) to take the edge of the deep hole of depression that will ultimately follow when you realise that this is it .... no more Farscape.

Oh and Pam, good on you for resisting the spoilers. I think you will enjoy it better without any spoiler information.

Since Farscape has completely hijacked these comments, I just have to say don't worry about spoilers. I'm just starting, I'm still on season 1, and I've run into them all over the place. I've blocked a lot out (but can't forget the knowledge that John will go crazy and there will eventually be TWO of them), and I'm still enjoying what I see and looking forward to finishing the series before PK Wars. Once I figure out how to get my hands on the next seasons without going broke, that is...

Well, to link these comments back to Cynthia's, I think Farscape is some very fine methadone, indeed [g]

Hello,
I just finished Fire Along the Sky, and I am pining for the next one. That is probably not that compelling of a reason to comment on your blog...
However, I saw a reference to gettup grrl and Dr Love and I must say I am astonished at the places I find her. She is one amazing blogger, eh?

Thank you so much for your books. I found yours by trying to deal with the wait for Diana Gabaldon's next book and now I am stuck pining for both of your next books! Poor me! He he he.

My father's hobby is genealogy and so I have been steeped in stories about our families role in colonial America (lets just say that my family were royalists, and they've been on the wrong side of the political fence, in my opinion, for quite a long time). However, one of the things I have fantasized about was what life was like for my foremothers. A Midwifes tale by Laurel Thatcher Ulrich was a nice morsel, but Elizabeth Bonner and Claire Fraser really give wings to my meandering inner dialogs with what the women who preceded me may have experienced.

Your nod to Claire in one of the early books (I read them out of sequence!) gave me thrill, like I was in on a secret. I sure do love a good story...

Thank you again for all of the pleasure your books have given me,
Sarah
