finalist: odd email of the year
Dear Sara,I did laugh at this. Normally I wouldn't bother answering (I have about fifty outstanding emails from readers, really kind, thoughtful notes that I would/should answer asap) but it struck me as so odd I thought I'd have to share it. It may be a hoax, who knows? It may be a kid who's hoping I'm ... kind? gullible? enough to go ahead and do his homework for him. In any case, if anybody else is interested in writing a book report for MH, please let me know. I'll put you two in touch.
Could you please send me a detailed analysis (plot, character analysis, etc) about Joseph Conrad's novel ' victory'. Please send me on my e-mail any documents about this novel. I hope I didn't annoy you. accept my regardsMH

Dear Sara,
Thanks but no thanks. I just finished editing an essay on the differences between the civilizations of Egypt and Sumer for a certain 6th grader I know. Tell MH to go to the library. I love quoting this: Aristotle once said "Know thyself". I always think that meant "Do for thyself"

Sara:
Could you please do a detailed analysis of our company's financial statements for the year ending December 31, 2004 including our new acquisition. As you know, you will need to comply with all SEC requirements using US and Canadian GAAP and have this all done up in a lovely little form called a 10-K which is approximately 125 pages.
That would be great if you could have that ready for filing on February 15, 2005 and I won't have to work approximately 4 weeks extra in overtime to get this done and I can enjoy Nov., Dec., Jan. and February.
Thanks!

My children & partner gave me 'Fire Along The Sky' for my Birthday last week, after seeing my great excitement at its discovery in our bookstore. As with each book of this series I loved every page and cannot wait for the story to continue. I wish you could write them as quick as I can read them - they are a beautiful tale. Best Wishes
