Well, I'm not a Kiwi or and Aussie, but I loved the book! Unfortunately, I'm still getting back on my feet with my new job, so I had to get the book from the library, and can't help with your being in the Top 20 here.
I am, however, available to provide any other assistance you may need to the Queen of Swords story told (which, I realize, isn't entirely in your control). I could do your grocery shopping (and then mail it across the country. Hmmmm. Probably not my best idea). Whatever. You get the idea.
Oh, and I posted a bit in the forum about my reaction (I was catching up in the archives, and noticed you had asked for comments).

Kia ora again from Auckland, NZ
Please don't be surprised Fire along the Sky made it to the top of the bestseller list - there are legions of avid fans here in NZ.
Fire along the Sky is also featured in one of the main national bookseller's as a 'guaranteed read'. If you buy it and don't like it, you can return it and get your money back. My guess is that the bookshops will be holding onto their cash in this case!
I know you have said, Sara, that it is a backhanded compliment to you when you hear of people loving the books so much that they lend them to friends, but this is how I was introduced to your stories. A friend lent me Into the Wilderness and I loved it so much I had to go and buy my own treasured copy. This, in turn, has been lent out (to greatly trusted friends only) and inspired the same reaction. I am still introducing people to Elizabeth and Nathaniel and even the guys are hooked (often to their own surprise).
I am now halfway through Fire along the Sky and loving it. I bought it as soon as it was released here, but savoured the moment I could start reading by reading all the previous books first. I am always so sad to leave these characters when I finish the book. They have given me so much pleasure, tears and laughter. Thank you so much for sharing it all with us.

unite with diana gabaldons claire and jamie frazer? you story telling style is so vivid. the

Hi from Hawera, NZ, go Rosina! Us Kiwis have such good taste! I've just finished Fire Along The Sky - fantastic! I did especially like the developing relationship between Lily & Simon. Pity about the beard tho', am I the only girl in the world who likes men with beards?
